An EAP is a voluntary, work-based program designed to assist employees in getting help with personal or workplace concerns that might adversely impact their job performance. It involves confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, and follow-up services. On an organizational level an EAP might include prevention, training, consultation, organizational development and crisis response.
